What a beautiful, beautiful girl. Our hearts go out to you, we understand completely the pain of not having your best friend around. But if you listen closely and look for the signs, Jack is still, and always will be, by your side.

I know it's not the same as being able to smell her fur or cuddle on the couch, but all we can do when we grieve is hang onto the memories we shared.

Hang in there. Give yourself time to heal, and someday you will once again smile when thinking about your life together.

Yes she loves the snow. She's takign Rimadyl now and it's working so much better than the Tramadol. My wife also does Moxa which seems to really relax her. Tonight she actually ate a bowl of food on her own. Hopefully we're done with the pureed food.

The same thing happened to me when I was battling osteosarcoma; I often got really tired at night. My oncologist couldn't explain it, but guessed that it was probably due to the fact that I was just tired from the events of the day and my body was reacting.

Good luck with your appointments. You guys are pawesome pawrents to do what you do for your kids.

Jack, you are such a beautiful girl. So glad to hear it sounds like you're turning a corner there.

One thing my Mom wanted to share with you was that she just heard that applying ice is usually more favorable to a dog. Heat is something that smaller, shivery dogs and old dogs dig more. Maybe your Mom might want to switch to ice and see if that helps. Although it looks like you already got the hang of it with all that snow there. Brrrrr!

Hey guys, try giving stinky food to her. Braunschwager, Liverwurst, salmon, tuna water. Most dogs dig the stench of this kind of nasty stuff. Remember, it's better to get her to eat anything right now.

It's good to her she's not uncomfortble and you guys are managing her pain meds so well.

Hey, thnaks for putting a link to our site, you're so kind :)

Hugs to Jack. Hang in there.

Thanks so much for reading and for your comment. We're lucky to have flexable employers so we're able to spend as much time as possible with her as we go through this.

We are so very sorry to hear this news. We've been following your blog and hoping that things would go better. Please know that all that matters to Jack is that you are together, enjoying whatever time you have left as best you can. Remember, each moment is a gift. And also remember that dogs don't count days or months or years. All they care about is being with you at that very moment.

Hang in there and good luck with the palliative care. If you want to talk to others who have gone down similar paths, please come visit all the good folks at our community for three legged dogs and their pawrents, Tripawds.com.
